BOLLINGTON STREET SWEEPER INJURED

A council road sweeper from Crewe suffered leg injuries after his vehicle rolled on top of him.

The 47-year-old Cheshire East council employee was airlifted to hospital after the accident on Moss Brow, Bollington, on Thursday morning.

It is understood he was sweeping debris behind the vehicle at 10.45am when it overturned trapping his legs against a wall.

A passerby called the emergency services.

The North West Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and ambulance.
