Three counties chase follows Wilmslow robbery

Three men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery after leading police on a chase across three counties – which came to an end in a Staffordshire Moorlands village.

The alleged robbery took place in Wilmslow on Saturday morning.

Police, in cars aided by the police helicopter, chased the man from Cheshire into Buxton, Derbyshire – then Leek and Cheadle, Staffordshire, before the chase came to an end in Alton.

A Police spokesman said: “Great team work by police led to the arrest of three males in Alton village for robbery . . . the males committed robbery in Wilmslow and were followed through Buxton, Leek and Cheadle before being successfully stopped in Alton.”
