Urgent – join The Macclesfield Prince’s Trust team now!

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service are still looking for young people from the Macclesfield area to start on a free Prince’s Trust course this Monday.

The programme, which starts on Monday, October 1st, still has places available and is a 12-week course that gives young people between the ages of 16 and 25 the opportunity to learn new skills, complete qualifications and gain greater self-confidence.

Programme manager Josie Shearman said: “We are starting the next team on Monday but still have a few places available if anyone is interested.

“We are based at Macclesfield Fire Station and anyone who takes part will get to meet new people, improve their confidence and develop employability skills. They will also gain qualifications such as first aid and get to attend a graduation event at the end of the programme.

“You may also know someone who would benefit from taking part in the programme or have a family member who is stuck in a bit of a rut. If so then please give us a call to find out more.”

Experience shows that 80% of all graduates from the programme have gone on to achieve things as a result, this includes getting back into or going forward into education or gaining employment and training.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service has had a long, strong and proud partnership with The Prince’s Trust for 25 years and continues to see the benefits that arise from the work it does. The programme aims to move young people into full time employment and job-related training.

During the 12 weeks the team will take part in a number of activities to graduate from the programme. These include:

•Raising money to complete a community project
•Food Hygiene and first aid courses
•Health and safety and driving awareness training
•Attending a 4 day residential with team building activities

Partner agencies are also welcome to refer young people to the programme. Please contact Macclesfield Assistant Programme Manager Jim Bennett on 07837 123143 or for more details visit the website http://www.cheshirefire.gov.uk/
