The Lindow Ensemble presents . . .

. . . a richly evocative evening of classical music in Macclesfield

The Lindow Ensemble will bring an unforgettable evening of classical music to Macclesfield on Saturday 14 June, with a programme spanning English lyricism, Baroque flair, and Classical brilliance.

The concert will feature a stirring selection of works by Elgar, Alberga, Mozart, Telemann, and Ireland – all performed by some of the region’s finest musicians.

At the heart of the programme is Mozart’s Piano Concerto in E-flat major, K.449, a joyful and elegant work showcasing the composer’s trademark clarity and inventiveness. Renowned pianist Ian Buckle joins the ensemble as soloist, bringing his celebrated sensitivity and command to the performance.

The evening opens with Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, a warm and lyrical gem from the composer’s early period, followed by Eleanor Alberga’s Remember, a moving and contemporary piece reflecting on memory and tribute.

Audiences will also be treated to Telemann’s Don Quixote Suite, a witty and colourful Baroque interpretation of Cervantes’ famous novel, brimming with character and imagination. The concert concludes with John Ireland’s A Downland Suite, a pastoral evocation of the English countryside, full of graceful charm and quiet beauty.

“This programme brings together pieces that tell stories – some real, some imagined – and each full of heart,” says Steven Wilkie, Artistic Director. “We’re delighted to welcome Ian Buckle as soloist – his playing brings real sparkle and nuance to Mozart’s music.”

The concert will take place at St Michael’s Church in Macclesfield on Saturday 14 June 7.30pm.

Tickets are now available and early booking is strongly recommended – £12 for adults and £6 for under 18s.
