Pizza the action for East Cheshire Hospice

Delicious pizza is on the menu as East Cheshire Hospice teams up with The Detroit Slice.

One of Macclesfield’s newest businesses, The Detroit Slice plans to deliver takeaways to the Hospice as part of its support for the charity.

It has already sent a boxload and more are on the way, fresh from the ovens at newly opened premises in Broken Cross.

Owner Hetesh Pal was six when he lost his father Prakash, who benefited from health care.

Marketing colleague Charlie Shakeshaft remembers his late grandfather Ralph Croxall receiving care from East Cheshire Hospice some 15 years ago.

Charlie said: “Our family are massive advocates of the charity. It did a wonderful job looking after my grandad who had MS.

“The Hospice is a core part of Macclesfield and as a new business we want to embed ourselves into the community.

“Without even speaking to people you know everyone is aware of the Hospice. For us, it’s an opportunity to support a valuable local service.

“We want to help raise Hospice awareness and remind people of its good work and that it always needs support.”

The Detroit Slice matched donations received at the shop’s opening. The company is also supporting the charity’s events.

Charlie said: “We’ll drop off more food for staff, patients, their families and friends and will continue to work with the Hospice when we can.

“Our most popular pizza is a Bando, made of pepperoni and hot honey.”
