Cheshire East pursues carbon neutrality

As German MEP Christine Anderson announces that . . .

. . .  the EU is “frightened, as more and more people conclude that the man-made climate change narrative is a gigantic lie” – Cheshire East doubles down on its ‘carbon neutrality’ narrative, apparently intent on spending £millions that we don’t have nor can afford on the fools errand.

Speaking to Neil Oliver, Ms Anderson says “People no longer believe in that, and I think they’re catching on to the fact that it’s a gigantic lie.”

And I for one subscribe to that narrative.

Anyone of my age will have been taught about photosynthesis at primary school.

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, algae, and some bacteria convert sunlight, carbon dioxide and water into sugar and oxygen. This process is essential for producing the oxygen we breathe and serves as the foundation of the food chain on Earth.

Horticulturists and food producers using polytunnels even pump in CO2 to feed their plants – as the CO2 levels in the atmosphere are insufficient for the growth needed.

Our atmosphere currently contains 0.04% CO2. Cut down on carbon dioxide and we eventually kill all plant life. If CO2 is reduces by 2/100 to 0.02%, plant life will begin to die – and humanity with it.

The earth’s climate and atmosphere is constantly changing, as part of a natural cycle that we haven’t been around long enough to understand.

Every time a volcano erupts millions of tons of CO2 are released into the atmosphere – so attempting to ‘capture’ CO2 is ludicrous in the extreme.

What’s this got to do with Macclesfield you’re asking. Well, Cheshire East is on a mission to reduce carbon and make the borough carbon neutral by 2045.

We have no doubt that well before 2045 there’ll be a complete reversal, scientists that disagree with the current narrative will begin to be heeded and the man-made climate change lobby will pass into history.

Cheshire East say “A little earlier this year our environment and communities committee voted to adopt Cheshire East’s first borough-wide carbon action plan, setting us on our way to achieving the ambitious target of boroughwide carbon neutrality by 2045.

“The plan acknowledges the multiple sources of carbon emissions from the borough from buildings, transport, waste, industry and agriculture and so it focuses on building collaboration and consensus throughout the borough with residents and businesses.

“We want to lead by example, so we’ve committed to incorporating carbon reduction and climate change into all of our strategies, plans and policies. We have also committed to using our influence to encourage and enable any activity that contributes towards the reduction of carbon.

“We are already working closely with other public sector bodies and several local climate action groups. This action plan provides the springboard for a great deal more of this activity in the future.”

No one should suggest that we don’t need to clean up our planet, ensuring that pollution of the air and seas is halted to the point our rivers and seas run clean and the atmosphere is pure – but pursuing carbon neutrality will prove to be largest and and mostly costly man-made scam that ever existed.
