Another new housing estate is planned for Chelford Road.
Housebuilders Redrow and Jones Homes have acquired a 25-acre site off Chelford Road in Macclesfield where 216 new properties will be built.
.
Redrow is developing 99 new properties on the northern part of the site while Jones Homes is building 117 homes on the southern parcel. Thirty per cent of properties are designated as affordable housing.
Mature trees and hedgerows are to be retained.
Infrastructure works are scheduled to commence in early autumn, with housebuilding expected to begin next year. The first legal completions are anticipated in summer 2027.
In total, Redrow and Jones Homes will contribute almost £1.5m through Section 106 agreements, linked to the planning consent, including almost £1.1m to support primary and secondary education and special educational needs, almost £220,000 towards healthcare, and about £180,000 towards sports and recreation.
ilovemacc: Section 106 contributions are welcomed but shouldn’t a proportion be set aside for additional drinking water provision? The last reservoir to be built in Britain was Carsington Water, in the early 90’s, and we’ve seen a huge increase in housing since then.
