Macclesfield police are appealing for information following the unexplained death of an elderly lady.
Police were called at 7 pm on Friday 18 July, following concerns being raised over the welfare of a woman at a house in Pearson Street, off Jodrell Street, Macclesfield,
Officers and paramedics attended and a 72-year-old woman was found and pronounced dead.
Her death is currently being treated as unexplained while enquiries are conducted.
Detective Chief Inspector David Hutcheon said:
“We are in the early stages of our investigation to establish the exact circumstances of what has happened and at the current time it appears this is an isolated incident.
“You may see a police presence in and around the Pearson Street area as part of this investigation.
“We would like to appeal to anyone who may have any information in relation to the incident to come forward, or anyone who saw anything suspicious or unusual in the area recently.
