NHS staff ready to run

East Cheshire NHS Trust staff will be pounding the streets of Manchester on 18th May.

The staff will be running in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run in aid of the Trust’s charity.

The annual event runs through the streets of Manchester, starting and finishing in the city centre..

With thousands of spectators, the course will be packed with live music, charity cheering points, boost zones as runners hit the streets for an number of charitable causes.

Deputy Chief People Officer, Jake Mairs, who will be taking part, said: ‘East Cheshire NHS Charity supports us to do more for our patients, colleagues and community. 

“As my local hospital, I’m competing in the Great Manchester Run this year as my way of saying thank you for the fantastic care that my family and friends have received. 

“I’m not sure how prepared I am for the 10K just yet but as it is for such a great cause, I’ll find my way over that finishing line one or another!”

Lily Preston, Fundraising Manager said, “It’s so lovely to see staff taking part and supporting the charity. Good luck to all our runners.

East Cheshire NHS Charity’s mission is to make a visible difference as they raise funds for local NHS services at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton War Memorial Hospital and a range of community services.
