The business owner, Christine Colbert, could only watch on helplessly as live CCTV footage showed three intruders ransacking her boutique.
It’s the second time she has been victim to a robbery in just over a year after thieves broke in through a window and stole bags worth £180,000 – prompting her to beef up security.
Three intruders had earlier accessed the disused building next door – cut a hole in the wall and entered the store. They stole a number of high-cost designer handbags, with a total estimated value of around £260,000.
Detective Constable Clare Slattery, of Macclesfield CID, said:
“Our enquiries are ongoing, and we would urge anyone who witnessed this incident or saw anything suspicious to get in touch with us.
