Nearly 40 criminals, wanted for a variety of offences across Cheshire, have been apprehended.
Last week’s Operation Untolerated targeted criminals wanted for failing to attend court or recalled to prison.
Officers from Online Child Abuse Investigation Team, Sex Offenders Management Unit, Economic Crime Unit and the Serious Organised Crime Unit brought in 39 criminals, 35 for failing to attend court and four on recall to prison.
Detective Chief Inspector Christian Morris, who oversaw the operation, said:
“In Cheshire, our officers work intently to keep the county a hostile environment for crime and do not tolerate the actions of those who actively evade law enforcement and, wrongly, think they can get away with committing crime without facing any repercussions.
“This is something our officers and staff do every day as part of their daily business, with this week being an opportunity to highlight that when we identify and arrest those who are a priority for us to find. This work also contributes to the Summer Safer Streets initiative, a campaign focused on neighbourhood policing and keeping our communities safe from crime and disruption, which the Constabulary has recently committed to alongside our fellow forces across England and Wales.
“I’d like to reassure members of the public that Cheshire Constabulary will always take action against those who commit crime, and we will continue to do everything possible to bring perpetrators to justice, continuing with our commitment to keep the residents of Cheshire safe.
“I would also like to address anyone who knows that we are looking for them and thinks they are above the law: we are constantly following enquiries and information provided to us, and our officers will not rest until you have been brought to justice for your crimes.”
