Art Fair 2014 runs from Saturday 27 September – Saturday 4 October at Macclesfield’s historic Old Town Hall.

Over 100 local and regional artists will be exhibiting high-quality original artwork for sale, including paintings, ceramics, photography, woodcraft, handmade jewellery, limited edition prints and cards. There will be a pop-up café downstairs for you to enjoy refreshments as you browse the exhibition. All proceeds from the sale of tea, coffee and homemade cake will go directly to East Cheshire Hospice.

Art Fair 2012 raised over £40,000 for the Hospice – the most we’ve ever made – and this year, with your help, we’d like to raise even more. The greater the sales at the exhibition the more the charity benefits. We hope you’ll find something irresistible to buy at Art Fair 2014, and in the process help the Hospice.

This year, we’re hosting some fantastic events that we hope you might like to be part of:

Private View on Thursday 25 September exclusively for sponsors of the Art Fair and a unique opportunity to see things first, before the exhibition opens to the general public. We offer various levels of sponsorship, including the popular ‘Art Circle’ option, with a minimum £250 donation that can be split between a group of five friends perhaps, or colleagues from work. To find out more about becoming a sponsor, please contact me at fbrereton@yahoo.co.uk.

Note – Waitrose stores in Alderley Edge and Knutsford are doing the green token scheme for the Art Fair and Hospice, we are grateful for everyone’s support and sponsorship.

Our Open Evening on Friday 26 September, to which you are invited, with wine, live music and canapés: a lovely opportunity to look around the exhibition, chat with other supporters of the Art Fair and meet some of the artists. We’re also holding a dedicated Artists’ Evening on Tuesday 30 September, and two moreArtists’ Mornings on Monday 29 September and Thursday 2 October when you can meet and chat with exhibiting artists about their work and inspiration. We do hope you can join us for some or all of these special events.

Special exhibition – The ‘5 Go Mad’ project. Come and see the five exhibiting artists take their lead from Enid Blyton’s Famous Five, let’s go mad and have an adventure in Macclesfield. This is a brilliant concept and we can’t wait to see the artwork.

For more information about the Art Fair and the Hospice, please visit our newly designed website at www.theartofcaring.org.uk, which includes biographies of all our artists and examples of their work.

During Art Fair 2014 we will hold a raffle in aid of East Cheshire Hospice, with successful participants being able to choose artwork up to the value of £450. A fabulous prize well worth buying a ticket for!

A showcase of outstanding artwork will be displayed in the windows of Hoopers Department Store in Wilmslow during the month of September.

The volunteers and the Art Fair committee look forward to welcoming you to Art Fair 2014.
