Airport parking robbery – police appeal for help

During the early hours of Friday morning, 10th October 2014, police responded to reports of a robbery at an airport parking facility, on Styal Road, Macclesfield.

A group of men wearing balaclavas and armed with metal bars entered the business premises around 01:20am and threatened and assaulted staff. A quantity of cash was stolen from the safe and a number of the offenders made their escape using a car stolen from the parking facility.

Two staff members were taken to hospital with minor head injuries and were later discharged.

DS Anthony King, said: “This is a serious crime which has traumatised the staff who were only carrying out their job. Everyone has a right to go to go about their daily business without fear and we need to apprehend the people responsible quickly.

“We are currently making enquiries at the scene and appealing for anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area of Styal Road or who saw a bronze-coloured Honda Civic to contact us.

Police are appealing for any information in relation to the incident to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 35 of 10/10/2014, or anonymously to Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
