Businesses can learn how to make the most of the cycling economy in two Pedal Peak workshops.

A limited number of free places are available for the workshops at Hassop Station near Bakewell on 6th March.

Aimed at Derbyshire SME visitor economy businesses, the half day workshops aim to help firms to understand the cycling market and to maximise opportunities.

The workshops will help businesses to:
• Appreciate the character and value of the cycle market;
• Identify the needs and expectations of cyclists;
• Recognise and capitalise on opportunities;
• Take practical steps to develop their business;
• Market their work more effectively.

During the morning and afternoon workshops, there will be a chance to network with other businesses and to get advice on the grants which are also available as part of the Pedal Peak for Business project to enable firms to provide good facilities for their customers who cycle.

One of the businesses to benefit from Pedal Peak for Business is Brassington-based Hoe Grange Holidays, which received a grant to build a new bike store. Owner Felicity Brown says: “The workshops are very useful and thought-provoking and it’s great to have an opportunity to network with other local cycle friendly businesses. The grant enabled us to build a secure bike store, which our cyclist visitors really value.”

The initiative is led by the Peak District National Park Authority and supported by Derbyshire Dales District Council.
