East Cheshire Hospice are one of the latest charities to benefit from the Macclesfield Town Council Community Grant scheme.

December will see the launch of the Hospice’s latest community fundraising campaign ‘Snowman Sprint’ and Macclesfield Town Council have supported the charity with a grant of £1,000 to purchase the snowman hats. This will mean that money raised from the initiative will go directly back into the charity for supporting local people with life limiting illnesses and at the end of life.

Helena Gowler, Community Engagement and Events Officer for Macclesfield Town Council commented that ‘Macclesfield Town Council is delighted to be supporting East Cheshire Hospice with a community grant. We welcome grant applications from community groups and charities based in Macclesfield. It is great to see all of the fantastic projects that grow out of the community grants scheme. We are looking forward to seeing lots of snowman sprints popping up around the town throughout December!’.

Lisa Ball, Community Fundraiser for East Cheshire Hospice said ‘We are really grateful for the £1000 grant from Macclesfield Town Council. The Snowman Sprint is a fantastic initiative to get Cheshire east children more active and raising vital funds for East Cheshire Hospice. The grant will help us purchase the snowman hats for children to wear during them run in December. We hope this initiative will raise over £70,000 for East Cheshire Hospice.’
