Image released following assault in Macclesfield

Cheshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with an assault at The Macc public house on Mill Lane, Macclesfield.

The man entered the pub at around 11.30 pm on Sunday 24 June became aggressive towards other customers. A member of staff asked the man to leave and upon doing so he forcibly kicked the door, causing it to slam shut and resulting in the member of staff losing the tip of his finger.

The man officers are looking to speak to is described as white with short dark hair, of slim build and approximately 5’ 10” tall. At the time of the incident he was wearing a white t-shirt and shorts.

Police Constable Jackie Cantrell said: “The victim in this case was simply trying to do his job and as a result he has sustained a serious injury. Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and we are committed to doing all we can to trace the person responsible.  If you recognise the man in the CCTV image, or you have any information on the assault, please contact me.”
