MATCH PREVIEW: DAGENHAM v MACCLESFIELD

Scott Doe will be assessed ahead of Dagenham`s must-win clash at home.

Doe missed Tuesday`s crunch 1-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Northampton due to illness, a result which left rock-bottom Daggers four points adrift of safety as they prepare to come up against a Macc side who are just that above them in the table.

Striker Scott serves the final game of his three-match suspension and misses out at Victoria Road.

Matthew Saunders continues to be monitored having missed the last three games with an ankle injury picked up in the process of netting the winner in the 1-0 triumph over Bradford.

Midfielder Luke Howell claimed the man-of-the-match award in midweek in what was his first appearance since September due to a long-term knee injury, although it remains to be seen whether he can handle two games in five days.

Goalkeeper Chris Lewington also regained his place between the sticks as part of four changes, with Mathieu Baudry and Josh Parker handed debuts.

Meanwhile, Matt Smith and Matt Ball are both set to make their Macclesfield debuts in the relegation battle.

Smith completed a loan move from Oldham until the end of the season on Wednesday and the striker was joined by Norwich midfielder Ball on a similar deal a day later.

In attack, Smith might have to be content with a place on the bench initially after Vinny Mukendi and George Donnelly were on target in last weekend`s dramatic 2-2 draw with Crawley, while Ben Tomlinson has recovered from illness.

Lewis Chalmers (hernia) played an hour on his comeback for the reserves in midweek, while fellow midfielder Ross Draper (broken metatarsal) has returned to training. However it is unlikely either man will be risked, clearing the way for Ball to start.

Marcus Marshall and Waide Fairhurst are doubts with ankle injuries, while Dwayne Mattis will join fellow ankle victim Paul Morgan on the sidelines for the rest of the season if a course of painkilling injections fail to have the desired effect.

Goalkeeper Jose Veiga sustained a calf niggle on his comeback from a thigh injury for the reserves and is expected to be given extra rest along with full-back Carl Tremarco (hamstring).
