BOLLINGTON INSURANCE TARGETS LIFE SCIENCE

Bollington Insurance has confirmed that it is targeting business in the life sciences sector specifically aimed at the medical devices area with a twelve-strong team.

According to the broker, headquartered in Macclesfield, it will also embark on an intensive sales and marketing drive to lead the expansion into the medical devices sector.

It added that for companies involved in the design, development, manufacture and distribution of medical devices, as well as new technologies and biosciences, it could provide a range of covers such as product liability (including efficacy covers), business interruption, IP, contamination, property damage, clinical trials as well as employer/public liability which include cover in the USA.

Carl Shaw, director at Bollington, commented: “The medical devices sector is huge and growing. But it`s a very complex area in terms of insurance and businesses have very specific requirements.

“We undertook extensive research and analysed its potential before deciding that expanding into this area was the right move.”
