TALENTED TEEN FROM WILMSLOW

A Wilmslow teenager has made it through to the regional final of a national talent competition.

Alessia Doyle, 14, was amongst thousands of hopefuls who entered auditions of TeenStar and queued patiently on the day for her turn to impress the judges.

Her performance of “I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker” obviously did the trick. The Wilmslow hopeful says: “I love music and to perform. My parents used to sing to me; When You Smile by Shirley Bassey is my favourite and I love her early vocals to this day.”

In April, together with other `TeenStars`, Alessia will compete in a regional head to head battle in front of a live audience and professional judging panel at the Royal Northern College of Music, hoping to win a place at the National Grand Final, at The O2 – where all acts will be in with a chance of being signed.

TeenStar is a new music competition seeking the UK`s best teen and pre-teen singers, singer/songwriters, rappers and vocalists of all genres, performing either covers or original material. It is produced by Future Music, who created the hugely successful Open Mic UK, binging us acts such as Birdy and Hatty Keane.

Chris Grayston, Events Coordinator for TeenStar comments: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer, another Birdy that can go all the way, with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also potential to become a professional recording artist. There is so much talent out there I`m sure we can find that star again!”
