Macclesfield golf ace Jamie Donaldson left Antalya with a cheque for 567,603 euros plus a million air miles for his second-placed finish in the Turkish Airlines Open.

Macclesfield golf ace Jamie Donaldson left Antalya with a cheque for 567,603 euros plus a million air miles for his second-placed finish in the Turkish Airlines Open.

Donaldson`s 22 under par total left him two shots behind winnner Victor Dubuisson but two shots ahead of Tiger Woods and Justin Rose.

Donaldson was helped by a hole-in-one at the 180-yard 16th, the fifth hole-in-one of his career, for which he won the air miles.

“It`s mad when it goes in,” he said after a round of 63. “You hit it right down the flag and you`re hoping in the air it`s going to be close, then it lands and it vanishes and it`s like `whoa, where`s that gone?”`

“It was great and the fact that you get something for it is nice.”

Donaldson is up to 32nd in the world rankings and fifth in the Race to Dubai.
