HURDSFIELD CHRISTMAS EVE ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION

Police in Macclesfield are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision that took place on Carisbrook Avenue on Christmas Eve.

At around 8.20pm, Cheshire Police received reports of a pedestrian having been in collision with a car on Carisbrook Avenue at its junction with Alton Drive, Macclesfield.

The casualty, who is an 83 year old woman who had been making her way home from church, was struck by a Nissan Qashqai 4×4 car driven by a 31 year old local man. She was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where her condition is currently described as serious but stable.

The driver of the car remained at the scene of the collision and no arrests were made.

Police are keen to speak to any passing motorists or pedestrians who may have witnessed the collision, or who can offer any information to assist this investigation, to contact PC Tony Hayhurst at Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident 734 of 24 December.
