WILMSLOW LAND UP FOR GRABS

Cheshire East Council is currently seeking formal offers for a plot of land off Wilmslow Road which they acquired as a part of a larger parcel prior to the construction of the Alderley Edge bypass.

The 8.6 acre site, which lies within the Green Belt and opposite The Ryley`s playing fields, is available by way of a 50 year lease for community uses – subject to the necessary planning consent.

This particular plot is an important part of the Parish Council`s plans to relocate the Heyes Lane allotments and build a new car park at the Festival Hall.

The Parish Council is proposing to relocate the allotments to land off Lydiat Lane which is owned by Alderley Edge School for Girls – who in return would like this piece of former farm land off Wilmslow Road so they can build a new sports facility.

The deadline for offers is 31st January 2014 and interested parties are invited to submit information about the proposed use; community and local economic development benefits; proposed job creation, proposed size of any buildings and the tangible public benefits which will be delivered.

The Local Planning Authority at Cheshire East Council can be contacted on 0300 123 5014.
