RUGBY MATCH PREVIEW: MACCLESFIELD v SEDGLEY PARK

Saturday 10th September 2011

This weekend Macclesfield welcome local rivals Sedgley to Priory Park in National League One and the Blues will be looking for their third straight league win.

Confidence is high amongst the Macc faithful after the team made the perfect start to the new season, winning both of their opening games and securing a maximum ten points in the process.

The Blues go into the game on the back of last weekend`s impressive 49-31 victory over Stourbridge, but they will be well aware that Sedgley have made an equally impressive start to the season having beaten both Cambridge and Tynedale already.

Last season was somewhat disappointing for Sedgley as they only avoided relegation by beating Macclesfield 26-19 in the penultimate game of the season. They will be looking to build on last year`s disappointing 11th place finish and will hope their good start is a sign of things to come.

Director of Rugby Geoff Wappett should have a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of the game and should welcome back full back Fergus Mulchrone after he missed the win against Stourbridge.
