NEW CONTRACTS FOR TRIO OF SILKMEN

Macclesfield Town have handed new two-year deals to midfielder Sam Wedgbury and right-back Elliot Hewitt and a one year-deal to goalkeeper Jose Veiga.

Veiga, 34, was ever present in goal for the Silkmen last season starting every game in League Two.

Wedgbury, 22, joined the Silkmen last summer and made 26 appearances, as well as having a loan spell at Altrincham.
Hewitt, 16, impressed in his senior debut in the final game of the season, a 1-1 draw with Hereford United.

On his new deal Hewitt said: “All I can hope for is to be given the opportunity for more of the same as long as I can work hard and keep myself in the manager`s plans.”

The club have also announced Matt Lowe, Ricky Sappleton and Jason Beardsley have not been offered new contracts and will be released
