In hindsight’s visit to Macclesfield Academy

Lucy Beresford from the Macclesfield Academy’s writing group writes:

On the 12th of June The Macclesfield Academy hosted the music band in hindsight to promote their music and to raise drug awareness.

In hindsight are a band made up of three boys called Isaac 19, Michael 18 and Daniel 15. The genre of their music is pop/rock.  A teacher at the academy, Mr Packwood said: “They mailed me to ask if they could perform and to do a presentation about drug awareness. I said yes due to the fact it had educational needs involved. I wanted to get the message about drugs and alcohol being bad for students, and also for young people outside of the school.”

All students from The Macclesfield Academy attended the performance.  Sabine Hussain 15, said: “They were amazing and I would love to see them again, my favourite member is Michael.”  Also another year 10 student, Gabriella Simpson 15, said: “I’m going to buy tickets to see them in July, they were brilliant.”

The reason they did the show was to promote a message about drug awareness. The band were telling young people that drugs can ruin their future. They said the message in a very clear and understanding way. It was evident that the audience understood what the band was telling them.
