A new Lidl supermarket planned for Macclesfield

National supermarket group Lidl are coming to Macclesfield.

Plans for the new supermarket, which will be situated on the site of The Towers (London & Manchester house) building between Parsonage Street and Park Street, will be be presented next week.

The company has been working for some time with Cheshire East Council to develop proposals for a mixed-use scheme.

A Public Consultation Event is to be held at the Senior Citizens Hall, Duke Street on Tuesday 15th July 2014 between 2.30pm – 7.00pm.

6,500 invitations have been sent out to local residents to allow them to view details of the proposals. Representatives from Lidl will be on hand to answer questions.

The company’s stated objective is to collate the thoughts of local people in their proposals to help them shape their plans.
