Live music at the Cat & Fiddle

The second highest pub in the country is offering two free-to-enter live music slots this weekend.

The Cat & Fiddle Inn is situated at the western side of Axe Edge Moor between Buxton and Macclesfield, and not far from Leek. The pub is 515 metres (1,689 ft) above sea level.

First up for this month’s live music offerings at The Cat & Fiddle is Ash Mandrake on Saturday, July 26.

The Ash Mandrake Act incorporates music, loop machines, stories and comedy. He designed the double necked guitar, hats and costumes he adorns. He performs mainly folk rock, but many other styles are brought into the set. He has been described as imaginative; an incredibly skilled musician and songwriter; unique, brave, and completely naturalistic.

Ash Mandrake’s performance on stage at The Cat and Fiddle will start at 4pm on Saturday.

On Sunday The Cat & Fiddle, The Run Out The Guns Duo will be performing, again from 4pm. Run Out The Guns, usually a four-piece line-up, also goes out as a folk duo, mixing their own music with songs from the distant past to the modern day.
