MP visits Parkroyal

Local MP, David Rutley, has learnt about the progress being made by Parkroyal School, on a recent visit.

David met with pupils from Year 5, where he held a lively question and answer session, and explained what work he does as their local MP. Following this, David was given a tour of the school by co-headteacher, Caroline Beaumont. The School are planning a significant new development, and David was given an update on these plans.

The Year 5 pupils at Parkroyal recently made their own visit to Westminster, where they were given a tour of the Palace of Westminster, including the House of Commons. This was done with the Parliamentary Educational Service, who also ran a workshop for the children to learn about how laws were passed in Parliament.

Following the visit, David said, “It was great to meet with the Year 5 pupils, and to give them an insight to what is like to be an MP, especially following their recent visit to Westminster. The plans which the school is putting forward are very positive and encouraging, and I wish the school well for the future.”
