Free tyre safety check on Friday

Mobile tyre fitting business http://tyresonthedrive.com is joining forces with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service for a special series of events during Tyre Safety Month to ensure all motorists are prepared for the winter weather.

As one of ten roadshows across the North West, Tyresonthedrive will be on hand to provide attendees with a free tyre safety check at Tesco, Hibel Road, Macclesfield between 10-3pm and at Astra Zeneca, Charter Way, Macclesfield on Friday 23rd October.

Each driver who has a vehicle check will receive a winter driving pack which includes safety information, tyre pressure and depth gauges and de-icer.

The events come as TyreSafe’s 2015 survey revealed 27% of people replaced their tyres when they were already illegal.

Founder and CEO, Dominic Clark, explains: “As the winter weather creeps in, motorists need to be more aware than ever of how tyres can affect driving safety.

“We are proud to be working with Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service to raise awareness of tyre safety and provide motorists with the knowledge to start checking their tyres more often.”

Frances Egerton, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service road safety officer, said: “Engaging with drivers across Cheshire to advise them on safer driving in wintery conditions is an important part of our road safety campaigning.

“Our drive is to cut road traffic collisions and incidents. I’m hoping that people will take the time to have their cars checked by our crews and take away some helpful information.”
