Appeal to trace driver following Upton Priory collision

Officers from the Cheshire Roads Policing team are appealing to trace the driver of a vehicle involved in a road traffic collision in Macclesfield.

The collision between a black car and a mobility scooter occurred between 9.15am and 9.45am today, Friday 4 December, at the junction of Upton Priory Shops on Kennedy Avenue, Macclesfield.

Although the driver of the black car did stop at the scene and give assistance to the driver of the scooter no details were passed between the two parties.

PC Nicola Mercer said: “I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision and believes that they may have any information that will assist our enquiries.

“As a result of the collision, the driver of scooter, an 84-year-old local man, suffered serious injuries, including a broken femur.”

The driver of the car is described as a white man, clean shaven, with short, dark hair, aged in his 50’s, approximately 6” tall and of slim to medium build. At the time of the collision he was wearing smart dark clothing and an overcoat.
