Police appeal for help tracing man after sexual assault

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses to help trace a man believed to be responsible for a serious sexual assault on a 37-year-old woman in Wilmslow.

At around 2.15pm on Wednesday 9 December 2015 the woman from the Wilmslow area was in a wooded area adjacent to the A34 Maclean Way in Wilmslow near to Alveston Drive when she was assaulted.

Police are trying to trace a man described as white, aged in his 20’s, of a very slim build, and around 5ft 7ins tall or slightly taller.  He had short brown crew cut hair, bright blue eyes, and was wearing a dark blue tracksuit top with lots of pockets, and very skinny tight dark blue jeans.  He also wore dark blue trainers.

DI Adam Waller said: “This crime is not thought to be connected to any other crimes in the area, the victim, although unhurt will have been deeply traumatised by the experience and she is receiving support for this.

“Whilst crimes such as this are extremely rare I would urge members of the public to be vigilant and mindful of walking alone in secluded areas and to report anything suspicious to the Police.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 140 of 9 December 2015.

Alternatively information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
