Fancy a new challenge in the New Year?

Police & Crime Commissioners from across the North West are seeking volunteers to sit on Police Misconduct Panels.

Volunteers will assist in misconduct panels in determining a fair and evidence based judgement about conduct and appropriate sanctions. The appointments aim to reassure the community that misconduct matters are investigated, and proceedings are adjudicated properly.

Approximately 20 people are needed to sit on the Panels which will be held throughout Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cumbria and Lancashire. The appointment as an Independent Member is initially for five years with a full review of continuing suitability at the end of that time.

Applicants must be over 18, live in the North West and not a serving or retired police officer or police staff, special constable or staff of the office from the Police & Crime Commissioner. A daily allowance of £200 is payable together with associated expenses.

An application form and further details about the role may be obtained from: www.merseysidepcc.info/home/get-involved/police-misconduct-hearings.aspx

The closing date for the return of completed application forms is 27th January 2016.
