Appeal following town centre robbery in Macclesfield

Sometime between 1.30 and 2.00am the victim, a 39-year-old man from Congleton, was walking along Park Lane with two men. As the group approached the Park Lane underpass the victim was knocked unconscious and robbed by the two men he was with.

Upon coming round the victim was assisted by a man described as being smartly dressed and wearing a black coat, who offered to call an ambulance.

The first offender is described as a white man, early 20’s with short brown, brushed forward hair. At the time of the incident the man was wearing a distinctive blue coloured jacket with the white logo ‘Exide’ across the shoulders on the back and on the front left side of the jacket.

The second offender is described as a white man, in his 20’s with short brown hair with thick sideburns. The man was wearing a long sleeved navy blue shirt with darker coloured trousers.

Investigating Officer DC Jennie Martin said: “We are currently following a number of lines of enquiry and as part of the investigation I am keen to speak to anyone who believes that they have any information that could help us to trace the two men involved in this incident.

“I’m particularly keen to speak to the Good Samaritan who assisted the victim following the incident.”
