Sarah took part in the vintage cycling festival last year and raised more than £8,000 to buy a powered all-terrain wheelchair bike for disabled visitors. This year she is supporting fundraising efforts to look after the 34 miles of traffic-free trails, and in particular plans to widen a section of the Tissington Trail.

“We want to look after the trails to keep them open for everyone to enjoy but it costs money to maintain them. This year our trails rangers are keen to widen a section of the Tissington Trail at Alsop Station, between Buxton and Ashbourne, to allow safe use by walkers and cyclists.’’

Eroica Britannia takes place in Bakewell from 17-19 June.
