Visitors to Dunham Massey this May half term can enjoy extra messy activities that will keep families busy all week long.

“Our younger visitors can enjoy getting creative outdoors this May half term. From barefoot painting to wild art- getting messy is all part of the fun!” says Katie Clayton, Assistant Visitor Experience Manager.

“All of the activities count as one of your ‘extra messy 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4’- a National Trust challenge that encourages kids to have fun outdoors and discover their wild side!”

Make a wild art masterpiece on 31 May and get close to nature on 1 June and make a fat ball bird feeder. On 2 June, let your feet create a masterpiece with barefoot painting and recreate your favourite part of the garden on 3 June at our ‘create with clay’ activity.

All activities take place 12pm-4pm in the beautiful surroundings of the garden- the perfect spot to welcome summer.

The fun doesn’t stop at the weekend- visit the garden on 4 and 5 June and you’ll be sure of a big surprise…our annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic! Bring your cuddly friend and a picnic along and enjoy games, a puppet show and live music from Lydgate Brass Band.

Want to turn your visit into a whole day out? You can continue ticking off your ’50 things’ in the park and garden; track wild animals, explore inside a tree and even build a den.

In the house, children can step back in time and meet Victorian servants at work, find out what life was like below stairs and help them with their tasks. After all that hard work, end your day with a treat from the ice cream parlour.

All visitors require a garden ticket for all May half term events and for the Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Free for National Trust members.
