The North West Rotary clubs ran a competition to see who could submit the best poem to celebrate the HM the Queen Elizabeth birthday.

The winning entry, drawn from all the clubs in the area, was by Grace Bailey Rushton (8), from Ashgrove academy – submitted by the Rotary club of Macclesfield Castle.

This Poem will now be sent to Rotary GB  as the official entry from District 1285.

The Poem from Grace together with one Poem for every other District in RIBI will then be sent directly to H.M Queen Elizabeth.

The winning poem by 8 year old Grace Bailey Rushton was:

The Queen wears lots of bling especially her wedding ring.
She walks around in her green dress standing out above the rest.
Born with royal blood she must be real good.
Ruling our country with pride and so much stride.
She’s always been in my heart, even from the very start.
I hope she’ll live forever, our ever-trusting Queen.
