The literary classic The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame will be among the productions for children on stage at Buxton Opera House in August.
Along with Badger and the irrepressible Mr. Toad, enjoy a rip-roaring musical ride along the road of friendship in a new adaptation that captures all the wit and bonhomie of the original story. When Mole plucks up the courage to explore the Riverbank with his friend Ratty, nothing can prepare him for the adventure that awaits… they career from one exploit to the next, culminating in a battle not only to save Toad Hall, but their very way of life.
This new version brings to life all the sparkle of Kenneth Grahame’s original novel, whilst adding a touch of showbiz to the Riverbank.
Other events at the Opera House for families include The Hollywood Special Effects Show (14 Aug), an interactive and explosive family show that reveals the science to the special effects in some of the world’s best loved movies. Dinosaur Zoo (23 & 24 Aug) brings these awesome prehistoric creatures to life as you’ve never seen them before, from cute baby dinos to teeth-gnashing giants.
September at Buxton Opera House also offers events for families and children including WiFi Wars, a live comedy game show where the audience plays along by Logging in with their smartphones or tablets, with a range of prizes to be won!
