Police appeal following Adlington incident

Macclesfield officers are appealing for information following an incident in Adlington. 

At approximately 10.40am on Monday 8th August a delivery driver who was returning to his vehicle on Brookledge Lane, Adlington, when he noticed a man standing near the driver’s door of his van.

As the driver approached he saw the offender had broken a quarter light of the van, had forced the driver’s door open and was attempting to remove items from inside.

When the delivery driver attempted to stop the offender a struggle ensued, during which the driver was struck twice.

Following the struggle the offender left the scene empty handed.

The offender is described as a man of medium build, approximately 5ft 8inches tall with dark hair. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark grey hooded top, dark trousers, dark gloves and a dark scarf over mouth and nose.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 279 of 8/8/16.
