Should Weatherspoons be ashamed?

There’s a story making the rounds that pub chain Weatherspoons have sent out the following tweet:

“Due to the ever expanding multiculturalism of our clientele and employees this year our staff will not be wearing the poppy while working.”

Editor: In all of my travels – throughout Christian and Moslem countries – I’ve never experienced any problems associated with people remembering and/or paying tribute to their war dead.

If the story is true, and they did tweet the message, someone should remind Weatherspoons that if it hadn’t been for the millions that gave their lives in the defence of this, and many other countries, their company might not exist.
