Borowski, Hammill, Mora and Moylan gave their usual rebel-rousing, foot-stamping and hand-clapping performance at Sutton’s Big Night of Music last weekend.
How George (Borowski) cannot have achieved significant songwriting success with his music beggars belief. I’ve seen him many times and never cease to be touched by his melodies and genuinely honest and heartfelt lyrics.
With singer Mora (no surname apparently), ex ‘Toss the Feathers’ singer/songwriter Martin Moylan and refugee from Geordie-land cum Langley farmer, Nigel Hammill, the stage was swollen with talent and the appreciative Sutton gig-goers lapped it all up.
It’s always a pleasure to see a group of musicians enjoying themselves and not taking themselves too seriously. Highlight of their set for me was ‘Bring me Fire’ – can’t work out how a man of George’s years can belt that one out with such raw emotion.
If you’re a fan of live music and have the chance to see them – go and enjoy an unforgettable night.
Their set was topped off with Mr Hammill & co’s rousing chorus of Blaydon Races – aided and abetted by their rapt audience.
Haway the lads!
Fine Lines took up the second spot of the night, see review at: http://www.ilovemacc.com/2019/03/25/fine-lines-wow/
