Tytherington Nursery supports humanitarian aid charity

Bright Horizons Tytherington Day Nursery and Preschool continues to support the Hope and Aid charity through toy donations.

Hope and Aid currently focus on the situation in Ukraine sending truck convoys with essential donated equipment sent out to support those most affected by the conflict.

Tytherington Day Nursery has been collecting toys and essential equipment for Hope and Aid Direct’s 39th truck leaving for Kyiv in mid-January.

Examples of items donated include nappies, wooden bead mazes, toy phones and picture books for children.

Some of the donations will also be supplied to Care UK Charity (Warrington), for refugees in need in the North West of England.

Nursery Manager of Tytherington, Lorraine, said: We have been supporting Hope & Aid Direct since March of last year and continue to be a collection point for the charity within our community.

“Our colleagues, parents and local families have been so supportive of this charity which warms my heart. It started with toiletries at first and then moved onto children’s toys and books.

“It is so lovely to get feedback from the camps, one little boy shrieked with delight as he was given some toys, something that has been missing from his life since fleeing Ukraine.

“It is such a good feeling to be able to help these children and their families if only to bring a smile to a child’s face.”
