CCTV image issued following theft at Mere

Cheshire Police have issued a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to following a theft of cash and bank cards in Mere golf club.

At sometime between 11.30 am and 1 pm on 22 February, cash, bank cards and a driving licence were taken from a locker at Mere Golf and Country Club on Chester Road.

Following the theft, the bank card was used a number of times in the Wilmslow and Knutsford area.

Police Constable Abbey Jackson said: “There may have been a number of people in and around the country club at the time of the incident and I would ask anyone who may have seen something that didn’t look quite right to get in touch with us.

“We have been following several enquiries and as part of these, we have issued a CCTV image of a man that we believe may be able to assist us with our investigation. 

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man, or the man himself, to contact us.”
