Prestbury Choral Society spring concert

Prestbury Choral Society had a great singing day in February when more than seventy people gathered to sing choruses from Elijah.

Now we’re in full voice to perform two requiems in one evening – what a treat! Faure’s gentle, serene, harmonious Requiem, which includes the lyrical Pie Jesu and ethereal In Paradisum, has universal appeal. It is a profoundly beautiful masterpiece, sad yet full of hope.

Rutter’s Requiem is more of a concert piece, composed in 1985 to honour the death of his father, and is very popular around the world. From plaintive to exhilarating, this uplifting music set to beautiful texts has a message of optimism and comfort. Do join us to enjoy this wonderful music.

Saturday 1st April, 7.30pm, at St Bartholomew’s Church, Wilmslow, SK9 1AW.

Admission: £12.00 including a glass of wine or soft drink.

Book tickets in advance by telephone on 07775 586416, via the website www.prestburychoral.uk or pay at the door.
