The Royal Cheshire County Show 2023

The highly anticipated Royal Cheshire County Show is back and promises to be an extraordinary celebration of agriculture, music, and community spirit for the whole family.

On the 20th and 21st of June, the Showground in Tabley near Knutsford will come alive with a vibrant atmosphere, captivating performances, and a showcase of the best of Cheshire’s agricultural heritage.

The Royal Cheshire County Show which is celebrating its 185th year brings together people from all walks of life to celebrate the richness and diversity of the county. Combining traditional agricultural displays, thrilling entertainment, artisan food, drink & crafts the show has become a highlight of the Cheshire social calendar attracting visitors from across the county and the North West.

This year our celebrity visitors include Farm Life’s Tom Pemberton, Olly Harrison of Olly Blogs farm and a host of Happy Radio presenters who will be hosting Live! At The Show including Darren Proctor and Lauren Simon.

To celebrate its 185th year, the Royal Cheshire County Show will feature a wonderful concert, Live! At the Show, elevating the event to new heights of excitement and entertainment. Live! At the Show, in association with Happy Radio is scheduled for 6 pm on Tuesday 20th June and is set to be a wonderful evening of music. Happy Radio’s Darren Proctor will host the concert and there is a stellar line-up of artists, including Odyssey, Brother Beyond, Five Star and Katrina (Formerly of Katrina & The Waves). 

Live! At the Show will be free to attend for all those attending the Show on Tuesday the 20th of June as a special thank you to all supporters of the show in these tough economic times. Anyone wishing to attend just in the evening for Live! at the show is of course welcome to do so with tickets available online or with payment at the gate. 

From livestock & equestrian competitions, horticultural displays to craft demonstrations, the Royal Cheshire County Show really does offer something for everyone including over 3000 animals to see and interact with, light and heavy horses, livestock, alpacas, birds of prey and the famous sheep show.  

Visitors can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of agriculture, indulge in a wide array of delicious artisan food and drink and enjoy over 400 craft, shopping, food and drink stalls. There will be interactive activities, including educational workshops and family-friendly entertainment, ensuring a memorable experience for visitors of all ages. The Royal Cheshire County Show truly embodies the essence of community spirit, celebrating the region’s rich and diverse heritage.

Many of the favourite Royal Cheshire County Show attractions are set to make a return, alongside some exciting additions! For those looking for a thrill, there is the Red Dragon Monster Truck Ride which has the ability to crush cars whilst carrying ten passengers! ‘FreeDrop by TheAirBAg will also be joining the Show, allowing any visitor to make like a stuntman and experience the land-based free fall experience, alongside a friend…or for the true adrenaline chaser – by themselves!’

For all the foodies attending this year’s show, multi-Michelin Star and 5/5 AA Rosette-winning Chef, Jean-Christophe Novelli will be providing your foodie fix by demonstrating some divine dishes for you to recreate from the comfort of your own home! Joining Jean-Christophe will be a fantastic line-up of renowned chefs, including ITV’s Cooking with the Star’s Ellis Barrie, Mark Price, Sean Noonan and Craig Sherrington! Head over to the Roberts Bakery Food Live Theatre to see and enjoy our culinary tour de force!

Getting to the Showground is easy and convenient, with several transportation options available. There will be a free bus shuttle service running to the showground from 8 am to 6 pm on both days of the Show. The shuttle bus service will make stops at the following locations:

Shuttle One: Knutsford Railway Station- Bus Station-Showground

Shuttle Two: Hartford Railway Station- Northwich Railway Station- Showground 

Shuttle Three: Altrincham Interchange- Showground

Detailed shuttle bus schedules can be found on the Show website, enabling attendees to plan their journey accordingly. With the shuttle bus service taking care of transportation, visitors can sit back, relax, and focus on the anticipation of an incredible day at the Cheshire Show.

Additionally, ample parking facilities will be available for those who prefer to travel by car. It is advisable to plan your journey in advance, considering the expected traffic.
