Macclesfield Museums funding boost

Some fantastic news for Macclesfield Museums and its visitors.

The Silk Museum has received confirmation of a major £65,000 funding grant from the Government’s #CultureRecoveryFund!

This will enable it to welcome back visitors to The Silk Museum and to Paradise Mill and the reopening of the Old Sunday School, home to  Cinemac Macclesfield and Scoop and Scales.

After over a year of closure, it’s hoped that The Silk Museum will reopen its doors to visitors on 20th May 2021, and will be preparing Paradise Mill for reopening as soon as feasible.

This vital funding allows us to continue our important creative activities we have developed for vulnerable older people and for schools throughout Lockdown.

It helps lay firm foundations for the future, and supports plans to welcome you back to your museums next month.

The museum will share more information with you over the coming weeks of progress and reopening plans.
