The Mayor’s ‘Made in Macclesfield’ Charity Auction

Owing to the lockdown, this year the Mayor of Macclesfield will be holding an on-line charity auction on 15th April to support two local charities.

The Mayor, Cllr Sarah Bennett-Wake, has partnered with auctioneer Adam Partridge for the online auction to raise funds for the Mayor’s charities; Cre8 and the Macclesfield Seals Swimming Club.

Auction items are either made in Macclesfield or have been donated by people of Macclesfield and include:  Macclesfield architectural prints from Adam Francis, eLOV bundle of goodies, Co-op Fairtrade hamper, a banquet for two at a Chilli Banana, an Ian Curtis limited edition T-Shirt, Matthew Rigby PT voucher, a £200 voucher for Henbury Travel, silk pictures and more.

The event is scheduled for Thursday 15th April 6.30pm, and the Mayor is looking forward to the auction and hopes the bidders share her excitement at this unusual event that reflects the times we live in but also the kindness in our community.

A Macclesfield Town Council spokesperson said “Normally the Mayor would attend and host lots of events throughout their term, but this year has been very difficult.  We think the auction is a great way of showcasing the best that Macclesfield has to offer, whilst also achieving the Mayor’s target of raising funds for two incredible local charities.  We encourage everyone to check out the catalogue and have a bid if they can.”

Adam Partridge is one of the UK’s best known antiques and fine art personalities, and regularly appears as an expert and auctioneer on television programmes including Flog It!, Bargain Hunt, Dickinson’s Real Deal and Cash in the Attic.
