BT billing scam

We’re receiving reports again of a BT billing scam that is being sent out via email.

The message appears authentic, but if you hold the cursor over the sender’s address, it will show something like: 20614701@nike.com and if you hold the cursor over the “Verify” hotlink you’ll get a very non-BT result.

Note: the image is a screenshot of the email contents so the Verify now hotlink doesn’t work.

We suggest you forward the email to BT’s abuse reporting mail address: abuse@bt.com.

Then mark your email as JUNK – which should mean any future emails will automatically go into your junk folder.

If you know anyone vulnerable who might fall for this scam please copy this item and email it to them.
