Witness to Cedar Grove assault sought

Police are appealing for a man who intervened in an assault to get in touch.

At around 7.00 am, on Wednesday 2 March, a woman was assaulted in Cedar Grove by a man.

A member of the public intervened, challenged the suspect, then left the area.

As part of the investigation a 21-year-old man has been arrested.

DI Duncan Gouck said: “I’d urge this man to come forward and help us with our enquiries. I’d like to reassure him that he has done nothing wrong – we just need to get as much information as possible for our enquiries. I’d also appeal to anyone who saw a woman being assaulted in Cedar Grove that morning to contact us – that includes anyone with dash cam footage, or CCTV or doorbell cameras that may have picked up the incident.”
